Best of Biotech - Deadline Phase II: July 1st, 2017

+++ Only 5 weeks left to enter the competition in Phase II +++

The Best of Biotech-competition, aimed at encouraging commercial exploitation of applications-oriented research and innovation, is now open for submission in its second phase. It is organized by Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy and supported by Shire, Roche, Boehringer Ingelheim, LISAvienna and Standortagentur Tirol.

During the second phase (28.04.2017 – 01.07.2017), the participants develop and submit their business plans. During the competition candidates will receive intensive feedback on their ideas. Experts from the fields of industry, finance and science will evaluate the submitted ideas and together with the participants work out a viable business plan - the foundation for every new business. An international jury, composed of renowned business experts, will choose the best three business plans and award them.

Prizes. The best three business plans will receive prizes of € 15,000, € 10,000 and € 5,000 respectively. The LISAvienna Medtech Award amounts to € 10,000.

One-to-one meetings. The meetings are aimed to provide support and feedback to the participants in order to improve their submissions. The participants will benefit from an engaged team of BoB regional partners with a significant international business experience as well as experience in commercial aspects of innovation in the life sciences. The meetings are not mandatory, but highly recommended.

Coaching sessions. The best 10 teams of the Phase II will be invited to Vienna to attend coaching sessions where they receive intensive feedback on the presentations and business plans.
